Have Google will travel....Maybe?
Posted Monday, October 9, 2006 by RL Hawk
Google has gotten in to the security game by providing explicit security warnings about search results that link to dangerous destinations. Google appears to have tapped some kind of central database clearing house of dangerous URLs and integrated it in to Google search results. Any time a user attempts to click on a flagged URL, Google redirects the user to the warning page below.
(pic not transferable...but you get the point)

The user is given a choice to continue on to the destination if you insists but warns you that "the site you are about to visit may harm your computer!"

There are tons of dangerous Internet websites that lure unsuspecting users in with the promise of free porn and free software when the only thing they give the user is free Malware. These malicious websites will use the latest zero-day Internet Explorer flaw that won't be patched until the next Patch Tuesday. URL filtering at a global search engine level is a wonderful idea that can protect millions of search engine users. This is such a wonderful idea that it should be emulated by all search engines and you would almost be crazy to search the Internet without it.

Hi Gang!
I while back I subscribed to this MS newsletter and although it's mostly the same each time it arrives, there are some important new intems now and then. The nice this is, it has links to things like the latest DirectX drivers, etc that are nice to have and check now and then.
You have to have a MS log in (most do through .net), just login and sign up.
Here's the link, sign up and all the new info will come to your e-mail weekly....
