The Good Old Days

The Alpha test hit an interesting milestone recently, and I don't think most of us even noticed. That milestone was nostalgia. We've reached a point where you can already start to hearken back to the "good old days", when things were different.

The good old days, as is frequently the case, weren't all that great. But they were different. And we almost always look back upon the past with fondness. Now then, as I don't want this particular Words from the Magi to get overly bogged down, I'm going to skip right to the gristle: I'm going to give a few examples of the "history" of the Alpha.

Remember mighty gloves of health?

How about back when the proving grounds were full of snakes?

Or what about when you got different gear every time you signed in.

Then there's the ancient past -- remember when the only way to get exp was to fight each other?

Or how about when we had ONE fight to choose from?

Anyhow. Point is, we've already moved to the stage where all these things have moved from recent history into a muddled sort of nebulous past. It may not be as glorious a transition as, say, from version 1 to version 2 of Neverwinter -- but it's a transition all the same. And I'm pretty sure I know some of the things we'll be looking back on in the future:

Hey, remember when you couldn't cast spells?

Or how about when you couldn't even give stuff to each other?

Just makes you all warm and fuzzy inside, doesn't it? Or maybe that's just me.
