He sat in his room alone, eyes closed in deep thought. Soon they would leave for Winterbrook, to face the undead horde which threatened his brothers land. Vilessa was busy seeing to the last minute details before their departure, she would catch up with him in the war room. The silence in the room was heavy, you could feel it, a certain intangible electricity drifting through the room like an unseen fog. Several minutes passed before his eyes opened. “We are coming for you” The mental command went out as Mallagant rose from his plush chair. Moving to one of the chests he brought with him, Mallagant spoke the command word which deactivated the rune which adorned the lock. Stripping down, he removed his armor from the chest and dressed. His armor was adorned with ancient runes, the metal having been forged from an unknown alloy. The armor was weightless, the runes seemingly taking on a life of their own as the armor greeted its master. The last chest in the room was long and stood upright with no visible locks, only a single rune dominated its center. After another more complicated command word was spoken, Mallagant removed its contents. The staff was taller than he and covered in runes. The body was made from some kind of mixture between steel and oak, its construction resembling his armor. Once his things were ready, he exited his room and slipped into the hall. As he moved down the corridors, several people stopped to stare briefly before snapping out of their trance and returning to their current duties. He could hear the voices inside the war room as he approached, several people had already arrived. Opening the door, Mallagant stepped inside. Turning to his mother and Murtano, Mallagant dipped into a low bow. “M’lord, M’lady, I am at your disposal” He rose and awaited his part in the plan.

Muralla listened as Felena relayed the information that had been gathered from Winterbrook. She listened as Felena recounted how all the land and waters of Winterbrook were being ruined by the undead forces within the land. She could feel the anger surge in her, as in her sister, over the tale that the women and children were being pulled into the service of the undead army, alongside the men. Felena next spoke of the preparations that were being made. Mura nodded as Fel asked that she command the army in Giantkiller's absence. She would be glad to ready the troops and rejoin his side in the coming battle. Mura turned to leave with the rest as Felena finished. Her footsteps rang in the corridors as she made her way to the guards quarters. She was quick to locate Gerard, whom Giant had left in charge of the guardsmen while he was away. Mura nodded in greeting as Gerard gave her a slight bow, "M'lady, how may I help you?" "Gerard, we are to finish readying the troops immediately to head out to Winterbrook. Word has just come that the enemy we face is of the most vile kind... the undead." Gerard's face showed the grim look of one who had encountered such before. He nodded, acknowledging her statement. "The town militia will be moving in within the castle, along with the surrounding townspeople. We are to leave a minimum of guards to accompany the militia on the watches, but all others must be ready to march with us. I expect that you to will come along with us. We will leave the next capable guard to oversee those that are left behind to help protect the keep with the militia. I believe that would be Morgen." "Aye, M'lady, Morgen that would be Morgen. I will speak with her immediately. She will not let Tannisbury down," Gerard stated solemnly. Mura smiled, placing a hand on his shoulder, "I know that will be the case Gerard. And Lord Giantkiller will be pleased to have you by his side again. I will let you continue with the arrangements, and will see you when the time comes to head out." Leaving Gerard to his duties, Mura headed out to the stable to make sure that Smoke was ready...

Wayward Son of NOR
It's funny, no matter what realm you find yourself in, the farmers,
woodsmen and townsfolk all look the same. He knew this from experience,
he had travelled a long road over the last few years and he seen his share
of people. Even the names had begun to blend in until it was difficult
to recognize the familiar.
"Not THAT difficult" he thought. Raven had heard tell of a new kingdom,
ruled with courage and honor. He had also heard the names of the rulers,
"Felena and Murtano, two names I'll not likely forget", he smiled slightly
as he crested a small hillock and saw a castle in the distance.
The names brought forth images of the past. Raven had distanced himself
from such thoughts as they still tugged upon his heartstrings at times.
Still, his memories of castle dwellers had always been fond ones.
The gates were busy, the day was fading fast and there was an influx
of shoddily armored men taking positions on the wall. Chaos like this was
rare in the structured existance of his friends. He slipped past the gate
in the midst of a cadre of armed men. His practiced eye picked up the unmistakable
signs of an army about to march. Horses were being barded, given extra
grain, and formed into ranks.
"Ye gods, why canna I ever have just a quiet visit?" He made his way towards a rather large looking chap, perhaps an officer of the guard. He knew better than to wander the castle garbed as he was, a man in black, armed with a variety of blades. "Excuse me I...", he stopped as the large man turned revealing the lady he had been speaking with. A familiar twinkle from the raven-haired lady prompted Raven to speak, "Hello Mura, it has been a long time."

Astalder notices a strange man enter the castle among all the hubbub and confusion
How careless of me to let someone slip in that easily
He makes his way toward the man, bringing with him two other guardsmen.
Seeing he aproached Muralla, his alarm lessened to an extent but not til
he heard them speak did he release the grip on his sword.
Is everything in order M'lady? Knowing full well she could take care of herself, he nonetheless offered his assistance

Erdrick strides up to Raven and Muralla, giving Raven a warm Greeting
and filling Astalder in on who this stranger was.
"Welcome old friend. You have a choice. Ride with us or rest a while
and enjoy the castle while we are away. All the townsfolk are moving inside
the wals for protection as we ride off to WinterBrook to aid Ian. Ah well,
I will leave you in the hands of Muralla to fill you in more
With that, he heads off to make final preparations and gather Thundercloud
to the assembly area.

Felena accepted the ale from her husband as Ox entered the War Room, took a long drink, then stood and crossed the distance between them and Ox. The town's blacksmith knelt before her as she examined the seasoned warrior's features. Tlu's death had taken its toll on him, that was more than apparent. She wished that Tyr had not called her sister away. She reached out a gentle hand and placed it on his shoulder. "Please, dear friend. It is not necessary to kneel before us." She waited as he got to his feet before continuing. "There are two reasons I asked that you come here this evening. The first is to apologize for not being at the side of your bride when she needed me most...when you needed me." She paused briefly, stuggling for emotional control. "Tlu was very dear to my heart. No blood bond could have been more true than that which I had with her. I shall miss her smile, and her wise council..." her voice broke. img src="images/images/.and her warm hugs. She touched my heart in a way no one else could have. The only comfort I find in it all, is knowing that Tyr has her at his side." Reaching out, she took Ox's hand in hers, "If there is anything you need...anything we can do, please don't hesitate to ask."

Ox looked into Felena's face, tears were beginning to flow again. With
great difficulty he rose from his knees and allowed her to take his hand.
There was much love in the gesture and of course no fight left in him anyway.
he accepted her love and apology as he knew how busy she was with all that
was happening lately. He nodded at her offer. He then hugged her
gently and warmly and then went to Murt with the same heartfelt hug and
without uttering a word (as the lump in his throat would not permit it)
left the war room and returned to his home.

As Mura was finishing her talk with Gerard, a stranger clothed in black approached from behind him. Mura's face registered surprise and then amusement as Gerard turned to the man addressing him. She had noted that his hands had instinctively to his sword. The "stranger" spoke to her, but before she could reply Astalder came rushing over. There was a note of anxiousness and a bit of embarrassment as he to asked about the dark stranger. Yet again, before Mura had even started to utter a single word in response, Erdrick came over to the gathered group. There was a twinkle in her eye as she watched the stranger being greeted by Erdrick, and introduced to Astalder. He briefly mentioned the current happenings in the castle before departing, along with Astalder, leaving the stranger in her "care". Turning to the dark-haired man, Mura smiled, "It has been a long time since I have seen you."
Looking at Gerard, she spoke, "Gerard, I would like you to meet Lord Raven, a very OLD friend of mine, as well as of Lord Murtano and Lady Felena." Gerard bowed, "Please to meet you Lord Raven. Lady Muralla, you will excuse me of course." "Certainly, Gerard, I was just going to be on my way as well. I am sure that Lord Raven, will join me." Mura smiled as she walked away, Raven following her. "It is good to see you again. I know that Murt and Fel, will also be pleased that you have found your way here.
Unfortunately, we will not be able to stay and welcome you properly. We are on an urgent mission to help out Fel's eldest son in Winterbrook." The pair made their way down to the stables. Mura explained what had happened, what they had learned, and about the preparations they were making to depart. Reaching the stables, they entered. Raven followed her as she made her way down to Smoke's stall. She began the task of preparing him, "I am sure that your help in the coming struggle would be greatly appreciated by all, but we would also understand, if you chose to stay out of it." Mura continued with her task as she waited to see what Raven decided. Although, she knew that he was not one to abandon friends in times of crisis.

She watched as Ox left the War Room and was replaced by FawnWiz. She smiled at the petite Wizard of Tannisbury. Motioning to a seat at the council table, she retook her seat as Murt refilled their ales. "Fawn, we would be most indebted to you if you would assist us in this plight we now face. I will give you the choice of accompanying us to Winterbrook to face this monstrosity, or to remain here within the walls of the Castle to ward it against attack. The townsfolk have been moved inside the walls, Seanessy will be remaining here, where it is safe." She paused to study the face of her dear friend. "Either choice will not be an easy task. There will be much to do here, to keep things safe, and to oversee the provisions for those who are here. What we face in Winterbrook is an undead army. Of course you know that Clerics are most effective against them. Still, your skills would be very helpful there as well." She paused as Murt returned to take his seat at the table, handing her tankard of ale to her, and offering one to Fawn. After taking a pull, she looked at Fawn and said..."And now, dear friend, I leave the choice to you." Felena leaned back in her chair and rested her arm upon her husband's as they waited for a response from Fawn.
